Colossorama - Review

" Colossorama " Whales And Games Review by: David Strickland For most fighting games, you’re usually limited to just the normal brawler, fighting with punches, blocking, and a special move, games such as Street Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, etc all had a great launch into the industry, then games like Nintendo’s Smash Brothers came into the play allowing the player to do more than just brawl out against your favorite Nintendo Characters, items would be spawned into the arena allowing the player to have more of an advantage to fling their opponent out of the arena. “ Colossorama ” an indie game in development by WhalesAndGames, brings a twist to fighting games as you are a gladiator facing many opponents who include other gladiators, lions, hawkmen , and more. “ Colossorama ” has over twenty-eight different weapons to choose from, as well as a feature that lets you set up a custom loadout to use during fights. It has a wide variety of status effects such as poi

Early Access Gaming (EAG)

Hello! I'm here to inform you about some pretty cool news! Just recently I applied to be a volunteer writer for a website known as "Early Access Gaming"(EAG) and am now proud to say that I'm a volunteer writer for them! If you don't know what EAG is let me sum it up for you.    EAG is an indie game reviewing website, where we find indie game's that not only strike our interest but think it will also strike the interest of others! And we share our thoughts on it, and review it, some reviews are written, while others are written and include a video to go along with that!   As I recently became a volunteer writer we have a cool new feature coming soon, either this week or later on next week, which I'd love to keep a surprise so stay tuned for that, as that's one of the first things I'll be gladly working on!   With that being said, to keep this blog post short and simple, if you'd like to check out Early Access Gaming please click here !

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy - (Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back) - Review

Image
Review By: David Strickland From mystic rain-forests, the spine chilling arctics, sticky slimy sewers, all the way to space, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back sure lives up to being the direct sequel to Crash Bandicoot, everyone wanted, adding more to the gameplay, and to the overall story of the “N. Sane Trilogy”   Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back offers everything it's prequel offered except in a better sense of gameplay and replayability. Unlike its prequel, Crash was only able to spin and make very precise jumps, depending on whether or not you'll make that jump was determined by timing it correctly or your perspective of the jump was right on point. Though most of these challenging platformer segments still exist within this sequel, you'll be very pleased to know that they added on, and made a few changes to make Crash play, and feel even better. In addition to the umping and spinning, they added two new gameplay mechanics, these include th

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy - (Crash Bandicoot) - Review

“Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy” Review by: David Strickland Over the past few years, 3D platformers have taken a huge leap forward with today’s technology, and have had way more improvements than what they used to have back then. Many people know what to expect when picking up a Mario title such as Super Mario Galaxy, a fun wacky adventure in space, using the Wii’s motion controls to somewhat of their best abilities, picking up a Sonic title such as Sonic Lost World and exploring the various levels that make up the world of The Lost Hex. What I’m trying to get across is that for many popular 3D platforming adventure games, pretty much have taken a turn on how people perceive the world that they’re playing in, and one of these changes that have been heavily made is how they use gravity in the games, and pretty much just going all out with how the levels look, and how they feel. Now for many of us today, hearing the words “A brand-new Crash Bandicoot game is coming out!” y

Undertale - Review

Review by:  David Strickland Finding an Indie game these days can be easy, but sometimes the really good ones are hard to come by. In September of 2015, the critically acclaimed indie-title by Toby Fox known as "Undertale" was launched. Though I never really heard anything about it except from friends and some information here and there on the Internet. I gave it a shot and found myself not liking it immediately. After some thinking about what made the game so special, I ended up giving it another shot and really enjoying myself in the end. Stunning Soundtrack & Classic Art        To start off, I'd like to say that this game’s soundtrack is truly a masterpiece, I find myself listening to it even while playing other games, or doing side activities. It fits the game perfectly, there isn’t one instance where I thought to myself while playing "This song doesn't sound right for this part..". An example would be a place in the game called “Waterfall” a

Welcome to Paradox!

Hello, my name is David Strickland and welcome to "Paradox"! "Paradox" is a the first kind of blog I've ever had, and will have Game Reviews, News on some of the latest titles from indie titles, to mobile games, and more! Recently I had been developing an indie game of my own titled, you'd never guess it, "Paradox". But due to unfortunate technical issues with the computer I was using to develop the game, the hard drive went corrupt, and I lost all the work I had on the game, which really stumped me, I do plan on going back to developing it hopefully, and maybe have better luck with the computer next time. As of right now, I've recently found a cheap MacBook for sale, and decided to buy it and use it for mostly for writing video game reviews, and starting up this blog as it's not the top of the line as it is the 2008 13" model, and only has 1GB of RAM... So yeah, can't really use this as a gaming computer and probably would NEVER
